I have gained a BA (Hons) and PGCE and I am the lead teacher for Literacy and have been teaching for over 15 years. I have taught from Year 7 through to GCSE. In addition, I have achieved a Diploma in Special Educational Needs.
I am passionate about helping students explore the richness of language and the power of literature. I believe in promoting students’ creativity and self- expression, through drama, music and performance. I am an able musician and I have attained a high standard in playing the piano and violin.

I was born and educated in Coventry and began my career in banking. I am married with 4 boys and we relocated to this area with my husband’s job 22 years ago.
I began working in schools as a Finance Manager 12 years ago and have worked in schools ever since.
I love the variety and challenge of working in a school. Every day is different and the reward from seeing the students achieve makes my job very satisfying.
I have previously worked at other Academies in similar roles and this has afforded me the opportunity to work at The Boulevard Academy.
What I most enjoy about working here is the pride that the students have for their Academy and all the new challenges we face as a new Academy.
After leaving school I studied my NVQ level 3 in Business Studies at Hull College and have worked in an office environment ever since.
I have been working in secondary schools for the past 7 years and what I love most is seeing the difference from the shy 11 year olds that join us in year 7, develop into confident young adults when they leave in year 11.
I am very proud to be part of the team at The Boulevard Academy, working alongside such fantastic students and staff.
I have recently achieved a BA (Hons) and PGCE and am therefore relatively new to the profession. Before joining The Boulevard Academy my teaching focused on the primary sector, teaching all of the National Curriculum Subjects at KS1 and KS2. My main interest lies in history.
I am proud to be working with Year 7 and enjoying the challenge of continuing good practice from primary schools and progressing pupils within the secondary curriculum.
I am currently responsible for overseeing the progress of Able, Gifted and Talented pupils within the Academy, ensuring that their needs are addressed throughout the curriculum.
I have two main responsibilities. Firstly, preparing students for the world of work. Secondly, ensuring students with English as an Additional Language can fully access the school’s curriculum.
My previous experience includes supporting students obtain work experience placements. On more than one occasion my target of 100% of students in work experience was reached.
I most enjoy working with our Boulevard Academy students. They are already demonstrating an enthusiasm, determination and motivation to achieve. I also like being part of such a fantastic team of people, dedicated to ensuring all students reach their full potential.
I have been working in education for over 7 years. I have a wide range of experience, particularly with smaller groups and individuals.
At The Boulevard Academy, I am responsible for the Accelerated Reader and Maths programmes which are designed to raise attainment in literacy and numeracy across the academy.
Another key role is Rock Challenge co-ordinator. The final of this will be held around Easter at The Hull Arena.
The Academy students have worked tirelessly on our entry and are such a talented team. What I love about working here is being part of such a diverse, talented and supportive team, who put individualised learning at the heart of what they do.
I have a BEd (Hons) and I am the Transition Phase Director. I am responsible for leading the teaching staff in teaching and learning, progress and attainment for the students throughout Key Stage 3.
I have been teaching for over 13 years and I have taught all age groups from Year 1 through to Year 11 exam classes in a range of National Curriculum subjects.
I am proud to lead such a dynamic staff, within a caring school where all children are treated as individuals and given the chance to thrive both emotionally and academically.
I enjoy taking part in sport, especially Judo. I have accomplished my Dan grade and coaching qualification and represented Yorkshire and Humberside at both junior and senior level and Great Britain.
I have a BA (Hons) and PGCE, I am the lead teacher of Numeracy and have been teaching for over 3 years. I have taught maths to all age ranges within the secondary and sixth form sectors, including GCSE and A Level classes.
I am keen to raise numeracy attainment across the Academy. I believe this is possible by embedding numeracy across the curriculum and ensuring that students are able to apply their mathematical knowledge in real life situations.
I have a keen interest in sport, especially rugby and karate, in which I have achieved my 2nd Dan black belt and numerous coaching qualifications.
I gained a Master's Degree, and a BA Hons in History before moving into education. I have worked in schools for over 4 years, including time spent as a Teaching Assistant supporting inclusion for pupils with barriers to learning. I have had the privilege of working in very large Academies in Hull teaching GCSE History, as well as supporting smaller groups of pupils.
At the Boulevard Academy I am the Head of PSHE, with responsibility for embedding learning skills (TRICS) across the curriculum. It is my aim to equip all pupils with the skills to become successful, not only in school but when they eventually leave the Academy too.
I have a BA Hons degree in Humanities and I am also the lead teacher of Humanities. During my 9 years in teaching, I have taught KS3 History, Geography, RE and Citizenship as well as GCSE Geography.
I believe in developing a Humanities curriculum which is relevant and thought provoking. I like to focus on current as well as future world issues and encourage pupils to provide sustainable solutions for them. I also feel passionate about giving pupils the opportunity to learn outside of the classroom. Allowing pupils to experience and explore the natural environment, museums and places of interest enhances their learning experience and helps them to secure a clearer understanding.
I love travelling and experiencing new cultures. I have visited many countries and places of interest including Ecuador, Thailand, Budapest and The Amazon Rainforest. I also possess a keen interest in running, biking, local history and visiting National Parks. I also support Hull FC!

I was born in Barnsley and moved to the Hull area over seven years ago with my partner and two boys.
I have obtained a BSc(Hons) and an NVQ in Teaching and Supporting Learning in Schools. Recently, I have achieved a PGCE in Secondary Education focusing on the teaching of mathematics. I have taught maths to all age ranges within the primary and secondary sector, including to GCSE level.
I came to teaching later in life after realising that I had a passion to teach children, after years of working in various IT and training roles within both the private and public sector.
I am keen to incorporate numeracy across the curriculum by encouraging pupils to use their mathematical skills to solve real world problems and situations.
I am a keen hillwalker, mountain and road biker, and lover of the great outdoors.
I have achieved a BSc (Hons) in Biology and a PGCE. The Boulevard Academy is my second school and I have previously taught years 7 to GCSE.
In school, my role is primarily to teach Science, however I also run STEM club with a number of other colleagues.
It is my aim to ensure that all students have opportunities to develop both their practical and theoretical skills in Science. I have previously run an eco-club, focussing on growing vegetables and keeping animals and look forward to bringing some of this to The Boulevard Academy.
I have a BA (Hons) in History and Politics and a PGCE in Secondary Education. I have been teaching for three years as a History specialist. Before teaching at the Boulevard Academy I have taught within the East Riding and North Lincolnshire council from KS3 to A-Level. I have experience of working as part of the pastoral team and have undertaken the role of Peer mentor supervisor.
I am proud to be working as part of the Boulevard Academy team because of the emphasis of embedding Literacy and Numeracy within all subject areas and individualised learning being reflected across the school.
I have a passion to grow the enthusiasm of Humanities within the school and to have the school involved within its community. Apart from my enthusiasm within Humanities, I have a keen interest in Drama which is reflected in many of lessons.
I have been a teacher for over 10 years. My specialist subject is Art and Design but throughout my career I have taught a number of subjects. These include: Technology, Drama, English, Humanities, Photography and Project Based Learning, among others. I am a teacher first and an artist second.
I knew I wanted to be a teacher at age 14 and I have never once looked back. I am one of the lucky people in the world who can place their hand on their heart and truly say how much I love my job.
They say that hairdressers are known for having the best job satisfaction. I disagree because when I'm stood in front your son/daughter teaching them, my job satisfaction and happiness is enough to make the whole world a very happy place to live in.
I qualified from the Academy of Physical Education and Sport in Gdansk, Poland and I hold Master's degree in Physical Education. After my graduation I moved to England and since then I've been working as a Teaching Assistant and PE teacher in Hull.

I have been involved within teaching for 3 years now, having recently achieved my PGCE in Drama after completing my BA(Hons). I have experience in all art subjects, my main focus being drama.
I am currently the lead teacher of drama at The Boulevard Academy. My passion is Musical Theatre and I regularly perform locally at venues including Hull Truck and Hull New Theatre. I believe this enhances my teaching by passing what I have learnt and experienced on to my students.

I have a BSC (Hons) in Environmental Science and a PGCE and I am the Head of Science. I am responsible for leading the teaching and Learning, progress and attainment in Science.
I have been teaching for over 12 years and been a middle leader for 5 years. I am both primary and secondary trained but throughout my career I have taught secondary pupils from year 7 to year 11.
It has been a great honour to set the department up from scratch to ensure these amazing pupils succeed in this subject and reach their full potential. I am passionate about the school and I am excited to be a part of such a dedicated staff team.
I have been working in administration in secondary schools for over ten years. I am very proud to be part of such an excellent school.
I have a BA (Hons) in youth and community work and almost 10 years’ experience of working with children and young people from the local communities surrounding Hessle and Anlaby Road. Most recently I worked for a local charity where I managed evening youth programmes and other project activities; including facilitating accredited courses for groups of school pupils not thriving in mainstream education.
I feel fortunate to work with students at The Boulevard Academy and I am passionate about helping them reach their potential. I have a keen interest in maths and science based subjects which I hope to pass on. The team here is committed and caring; I am delighted to be part of it.
From leaving school I spent a year at college learning all aspects of the building trade. Since this time my career has been varied. I spent 18 years working in Public Houses, starting as a glass collector and working my way up to doing relief management.
I have also worked for 7 years in a school as a cleaner before securing a job here as a Facilities Assistant.
Originally from Ecuador, I have been living in the UK and working as a Spanish teacher for the last 13 years. This year I joined the Boulevard Academy and my main role is to offer support within English and Spanish lessons. I also lead Read Write lessons to help students improve their reading and writing skills.

I have been qualified as a teacher for over 5 years, having achieved a BSc (Hons). Prior to joining The Boulevard Academy I worked in other secondary schools as a teacher of ICT and Computer Science (including 4 years as a Curriculum Leader).
ICT and Computer Science are both personal passions of mine and I am very keen to build on the existing curriculum that The Boulevard Academy has in place. I believe all children should have the opportunity to be computer literate and that their background should not impact upon this.
I am currently a teacher of year 7 students primarily across a variety of subjects. I am happy and proud to have been given the opportunity to support the youngsters I work with.
I have been working in secondary school catering for over 17yrs.
My qualifications include basic, intermediate and advance food hygiene, level 2 NVQ in Food Preparation & Cooking, along with other courses I attend on a regular basis. The kitchen has recently been awarded the highest score of 5 in Food Hygiene Rating.
I am proud to be the cook at the Boulevard Academy working in a friendly happy atmosphere to provide a choice of healthy nutritious meals and snacks. It is a pleasure to serve such polite courteous pupils and staff on a daily basis.
