The Boulevard Academy is one of the newest schools in Hull, having welcomed its first pupils in September 2013.
The school famously occupies the site of Hull FC’s former Boulevard ground and enjoys strong ties with the Super League Club.
The creation of this state-of-the-art academy in the heart of west Hull was an exciting and fast-paced journey.
The Academy was built in just 37 weeks after being given the final go-ahead in November 2012.
Many families committed themselves to the Academy long before it was given the formal go - ahead, demonstrating their desire for the provision of a high-quality education in this locality for their children.
The Proposers of The Boulevard Academy were able to recruit staff of exceptional quality who share a strong commitment to the principles and ideals of an achievement based and aspirational culture.
From the outset the goal has been to create an inclusive school which reflects the increasingly high expectation and aspiration of the local community.
The Principal and Governors firmly believe that all children can achieve and in order to achieve this the academy will provide an individual approach to learning. Setting the admission limit to just one hundred and twenty pupils in each year group with enable us to keep a close watch on the progress of all our students.
The proposal to develop The Boulevard Academy was developed in conjunction with St Mary’s College and there are strong links between the two schools. Staff from St Mary’s College contribute to the delivery of the academy’s curriculum and staff colleagues from each school collaborate in developing innovative approaches to learning.
In the future, it will be the pupils’ who will write the history of The Boulevard Academy.
